First Cellofest March 7-9 in PepsiCo Recital Hall

Daytime masterclasses and nighttime concerts are the focus of TCU's first Cellofest, set for Wednesday, March 7 through Friday,
March 9 in PepsiCo Recital Hall. The School of Music's Jesús Castro-Balbi is artistic director of the event and has organized a stellar lineup of artists, including legendary master cellist Aldo Parisot of Yale, Robert Blocker (dean of the Yale School of Music and former SMU provost) and the principal cellists of both the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphonies.

Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The schedule: 
Wednesday - TCU String Orchestra with Germán Gutierrez, Curt Thompson, Jesús Castro-Balbi and the TCU Cello Ensemble.

Thursday - Presentation The adventures of a Cello, by internationally acclaimed Carlos Prieto and recital by Prieto with pianist John Owings.

Friday - Concert featuring Aldo Parisot and The Yale Cellos, Robert Blocker with the TCU Cellofest String Quartet (Arkady Fomin, Lorea Aranzasti, Misha Galaganov and Jesús Castro-Balbi).

Bion Tsang, of UT Austin and Harold Martina will also present an afternoon recital, Thursday at 2 p.m.
