Theatre TCU staged "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

Theatre TCU presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Sept. 28-Oct. 2 in the Buschman Theatre on campus. Tickets are on sale at the TCU Box Office. Call 817-257-8080 for reservations. Admission is $10 or $5 for TCU faculty, staff and students. The box office is open from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and will open one hour before each performance.
 
In this playful, interactive musical, six middle school students, as well as some surprise guests, compete in the county spelling bee to achieve all the glory and pride that victory will bring.  These quirky participants learn more than definitions and words as they go on a journey of love, life, and identity. The show (rated PG13) was written by Rachel Sheinkin, with music and lyrics by William Finn.
 
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 2-3.
 
Cast members include: Michael DeCoursey, John Devereaux,  Jerry Downey, Amber Flores, Alison Hodgson, Dalton Hutto, Gabe Lawson, Jessi Little and Dani Martin. Members of the production staff include: director/choreographer Jennifer Engler, music director/conductor Alan Shorter, scenic and lighting designer Angelina Vyushkova, costume designer Corinne Hodges and stage manager Anna Lard.
