Neeley School of Business now accepting nominees for Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards

Fort Worth, TX

1/5/2006

The Neeley School of Business at TCU, partnering with the Tarrant Chapter of the Society for Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), is accepting nominations for the 2006 Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards. Nomination forms are available at www.ethics.tcu.edu. Deadline for submitting a nomination is January 15, 2006. Financial service companies and nonprofit organizations are excluded due to their close association with the SFSP.

The Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards recognize companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in everyday business conduct and in response to specific crises/challenges. Winners compete nationally for the American Business Ethics Awards.

“For the past several years, the media has been full of stories about poor business ethics,” said Marketing Professor Shannon Shipp, who teaches Neeley’s Ethical Decision Making class. “With these awards, we turn the spotlight on local companies that successfully exemplify superior business ethics.”

Awards are given in three categories: large companies (more than 2,500 employees), mid-sized (250-2,500 employees), and small (fewer than 250 employees).

All nominated companies will receive an official entry brochure and be invited to an entry preparation class. Entries must be submitted by March 6, 2006.

Recipients of the 2006 Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards will be recognized and honored at an awards luncheon on April 26, 2006, at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center at TCU.

Winners of the 2005 awards were Bell Helicopter Textron and Branch-Smith Printing. Finalists in 2005 included American Ironhorse, Atlas Foundation Company, Keller Williams Realty, S&J Electric and Thomas S. Byrne Ltd.

The Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards are sponsored by: Neeley School of Business, Society of Financial Service Professionals, Financial Planning Association, Star-Telegram and KPMG.
