Fort Worth City Council encourages local holiday card-writing campaign as ‘Thank you’ to TCU football team

Fort Worth, TX

Mayor Mike Moncrief and members of the City Council urged citizens and fans to spread the holiday spirit by sending TCU football players and coaches holiday cards as a gesture of thanks for delivering a record-breaking 12-0 regular season.

“Because of hard work and dedication of the TCU football team, Fort Worth is once again in the national spotlight,” said Mayor Mike Moncrief. “As the Horned Frogs head to the ‘Showdown in the Desert’ to battle the undefeated Boise State Broncos, they will be representing us—our city. They will be carrying our flag, and we can’t thank them enough.”

During the regular City Council meeting today, Mayor Moncrief and his fellow council members signed a 4’ by 3’ holiday card to kick off the letter-writing campaign. The card will soon be delivered to TCU Football Head Coach Gary Patterson and the team. Moncrief asked TCU fans, students, and citizens of Fort Worth to follow suit by taking a moment to send a card or a letter of appreciation to this outstanding football team.

Holiday cards and letters can be sent directly to the football team at the address below.
