Fort Worth, TX

9/24/2009

Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences will hold a Faculty Research Symposium on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 4-5:30 p.m. in rm. 139 of Tucker Technology Center. Refreshments will be served. There will be three research symposiums in the fall and three in the spring. Each of the symposiums will highlight two faculty who are working on grants, manuscripts, or books.

Presenters are:

• Dr. Dennis Cheek (nursing) -- “The Effects of Reduced Estrogen in the Attenuation of Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS) Expression and Nitric Oxide”

• Dr. Jennifer Watson (communication sciences & disorders)
-- “Attributes of Stuttering in Young Spanish-Speaking Children: Explorations and Implications”

“This new activity will highlight many of our outstanding researchers,” said Dr. Debbie Rhea, symposium coordinator and Harris College’s associate dean for research. “We have so much going on in our college and very few individuals in each of the departments have an idea what other colleagues are doing.”

Future Harris College Research Symposiums will be held in the same location, on Oct. 27 and Dec. 1, featuring other faculty research. For more information, contact d.rhea@tcu.edu or call ext. 6861.
