Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS) recently presented awards to community individuals/organizations who have made significant contributions in the area of aging. TCU received one of the three awards.

The Mildred Hogstel Award, named for long-time nurse and TCU faculty member, Dr. Mildred Hogstel whose professional career has been dedicated to advocating for the medical needs of older adults, was presented to The TCU Harris School of Nursing’s Center for Healthy Aging. The Center for Healthy Aging provides expertise and leadership to academic, professional and community organizations; facilitates services that promote healthy aging for caregivers and elders; and provides educational programs for students, faculty, health care professionals, and the community.

TAGS President, Kim Olmedo said of these award presentations, “I am so pleased that TAGS is able to recognize individuals and organizations within our community who exemplify the traits of the individuals for whom the awards are named. It is important that we applaud the efforts of those who work so tirelessly to make Tarrant County a Great Place to Grow Old.”
