Cuong ran one of the top simulated companies in the world to become one of six finalists in the 2008 International Business Simulation Challenge, succeeding against a field of 361 competitors running 272 simulated companies from university campuses around the globe.

Cuong, who is majoring in finance and business information systems and graduates in 2011, first used the Foundation® Business Simulation in a class with Professor Patrick Nuss. He said that he entered the competition to test his analytical skills, since his goal is to be a stockbroker.

The Foundation® Business Simulation Challenge is a global online competition hosted by Capsim Management Simulations, Inc®, the world’s premier provider of business simulations to college graduate and undergraduate students. The annual competition is open to all students who have used a Capsim business simulation in their university course. The winner was Bocheng Lin from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Dan Smith, president of Capsim Management Simulations said the competition was a great opportunity for aspiring business people to develop and prove their skills.

“Businesses today are looking for people with experience in decision making who have a strong overall sense of how business works,” said Smith. “That’s where simulations are a valuable addition to the university experience. The International Business Simulation Challenge provides an opportunity for students of all levels to find out if they have what it takes to run a multimillion-dollar company.”
