TCU CEO club brings home national awards

The TCU CEO (Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization) students won two individual awards, four chapter awards and made three presentations to more than 1,200 students and faculty sponsors from across the U.S. at the National CEO Conference in Chicago.

Jacob Watson won the Elevator Pitch Competition and $2,500. April Taylor placed in the Top 10, winning $500.

The TCU CEO won four major awards, more than any other club, including Best Electronic Based Networking, and Best In-person Networking. They placed 2nd in Best Marketing Plan and Best Student Leader.

CEO student leaders gave three presentations on best practices of CEO clubs: “Three Hundred Members and Growing: How We Built The TCU CEO Program,” “The E-Team: Creating an Awesome Organization,” and “Getting’ It Off the Ground: Starting a CEO Club.”

For the past two years the TCU CEO has achieved membership levels exceeding 370 dues-paying members. The club organizes and delivers dozens of events each semester, including speakers, panels, business plan competitions, networking events and an annual road trip to Austin.
