Author Kate Lehrer to appear at TCU Creative Writing Awards ceremony

Kate Lehrer will be featured as the guest author at the 2006 Creative Writing wards program Thursday, March 2 at 4 p.m. in the Dee J. Kelly Alumni and Visitors Center on the TCU campus. Lehrer will open the event with a reading from her most current work.

The awards ceremony is a celebration of the creative and scholarly writing of TCU students and alumni. Over $3,000 in prize money is awarded to students for their work.

Lehrer is the author of four novels: When They Took Away the Man on the Moon, Best Intentions, Out of Eden, and her most current work, Confessions of a Bigamist. She also writes short stories, essays and book reviews and participates in the Diane Rehm Book Club on NPR. Refreshments and a book signing by Lehrer will follow the awards ceremony.

The event is free and open to the public. The Creative Writing Awards program is sponsored by the TCU English department.
