National office of Alpha Epsilon Delta has moved to TCU campus

Fort Worth, TX

1/24/2011

Alpha Epsilon Delta, the Health Professional Honor Society, has moved its national office to the TCU campus. Previously located at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, the organization has now opened its office in Winton-Scott Hall, rm. 213, 2950 W. Bowie Street, Fort Worth, TX.

By late January, Robyn Shepheard, former academic program specialist in the College of Education, will transition to fulltime AED staff and manage the office. Susan Kruse, former assistant Kelly Center coordinator, is now a three-quarter AED staff member. The phone number there is 817-257-4550.

AED serves as an honor society and service organization, with TCU boasting one of the largest and most active chapters at 330 members, according to Denise Bennett, academic program specialist in Pre-Health Professions. There are 210 AED chapters in the U.S. and a membership of more than 169,000 students and alumni. National officers of the organization are located at various universities across the country.

Considerations for housing the AED national office on campus included heightening TCU’s visibility in the area of medicine and dentistry and act as a recruiting tool for the highest caliber students.
