U.S. Chamber of Commerce partners with student business clubs for entrepreneurship event April 21

As part of a national campaign to encourage the creation of new jobs, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, TCU Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (TCU CEO) and the TCU chapter of the American Marketing Association (TCU AMA) will host an event on April 21, featuring a panel of nationally known entrepreneurs. “A Celebration of Free Enterprise ” will be held on Wed., April 21, 5 - 6:30 p.m. in Dan Rogers Hall, room 134. The event is free and open to all TCU students as part of the U.S. Chamber’s national campaign: “American Enterprise. Dream Big.” Sodas and sandwiches will be provided at no charge.

Speakers will focus on the vital role of young entrepreneurs in reviving the economy, restoring jobs lost to the recession, and creating new jobs over the next decade. Featured presenters are Michael MacNair, president and CEO of MacNair Travel Management; Pete Snyder, founder and CEO of New Media Strategies; Arel Moodie, co-owner of The Extreme Entrepreneur Tour; and Mary Kane, director of special projects for the U.S. Chamber.

“For those of us who want to run our own business, we sometimes don’t think about the impact we’ll have on the people we’ll hire and manage,” said Brittany Walker, president of TCU CEO. “I’m excited to partner with the U.S. Chamber and for this event for TCU students and looking forward to hearing from these experts.”

Addi Hall, president of TCU AMA, added: “We are proud that the U.S. Chamber contacted us to bring these nationally known speakers to TCU. I think the students who attend will feel lucky to hear what they have to say and learn from their experience.”
