TCU included in the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010 Edition

Fort Worth, TX

7/17/2009

TCU administrators have been informed that the University has been included in the newest edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges, a well-respected resource for college-bound students and their parents.

For more than 20 years, the Fiske Guide has examined colleges and universities from a subjective viewpoint rather than statistical, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each institution in terms of academics, social life and overall quality of life.

Each essay describes a school’s academics, physical campus and social life. The section on TCU lists its strongest programs as business, nursing, communications, fine arts, engineering and pre-med.
The reference book’s founding author, Edward B. Fiske, served for 17 years as education editor of The New York Times and realized that college-bound students and their families needed better information on which to base their educational choices. He wrote Fiske Guide to Colleges to help them. Fiercely independent, the Fiske Guide accepts no consulting, advertising or other fees from colleges and has no outside relationship of colleges working on its behalf.
