BNSF CEO Matt Rose to speak at TCU Feb. 24

Matt Rose, chairman, president and CEO of BNSF Railway, will be the featured speaker Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, 7:30-9 a.m. in the new Brown Lupton University Union, 2901 Stadium Drive, on the TCU campus. Rose’s presentation is part of the Neeley School of Business’ Tandy Executive Speaker Series, offered to Metroplex business professionals to develop and disseminate leading-edge thought in order to improve the practice of business.

Rose became the youngest chief executive officer of a major railroad when he was made president and CEO of Burlington Northern Santa Fe in 2000. With a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Missouri, Rose began his railroad career in 1981 as a corporate management trainee with Missouri Pacific Railroad. He joined what was then Burlington Northern Railroad in 1993. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation operates one of the largest rail systems in North America, with 32,000 route miles covering 28 states and two Canadian provinces.
