Classes are held in the Tandy Center for Executive Leadership within the Neeley School of Business on the TCU campus. For details, visit www.neeleyexec.tcu.edu.

Taught by prominent professionals in the oil and gas business, curriculum includes homework assignments, exams, class discussion, panels of geologists and petroleum land professionals, and a required field trip to the Tarrant County Courthouse and a gas drilling site.

“I enrolled in the program to stay informed about the current issues, industry standards and practices since ‘the boom’ of the Barnett Shale,” said Ryan Blanton, landman for Keystone Exploration Ltd.  “I learned valuable information in applications of business ethics practices, communicating and negotiating skills, conflict resolutions, legal issues and practical applications in the oil & gas industry, and an in-depth overview of how geological formations create oil & gas.  The speakers are highly experienced and knowledgeable leaders and pioneers in the oil and gas industry.  The knowledge I received from this program was beneficial to me in my current career as a landman and highly recommended to anyone choosing a career in this industry.”

While the Petroleum Land Practices Certificate program does not confer a degree, it provides significant exposure to business concepts that will prove invaluable to the oil and gas industry. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate from TCU and are eligible to receive up to 25 Registered Professional Landman (RPL) or Registered Landman (RL) continuing education credits from AAPL.

Cost for the 55-hour program is $4,900. Special discounts apply for early registrants, TCU alumni and three or more from the same organization. Discounts can be combined. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or experience in the oil and gas industry. Customized courses are available for corporations for their employees.
